The Whippet BeansSilly Automatic
This barrel of laughs features the worlds first ever Helmaphone recording. A helmaphone is a groundbreaking new musical instrument, created by using gaffer tape to attach a small traffic cone to a hard-hat. Worn on the head the Helmaphone is played using a mouthpiece in a long tube with is joined to the helmet-mounted cone. Needless to say it required some creative microphone and mixing techniques to work on the record in “Freaky Ghosts”. Fun was the name of the game tracking the various parts for this EP including group backing-vocal sessions.
I mastered and authored a CD which contained the Silly Automatic EP and earlier Wonky Bonk Street EP. The earlier recordings were re-mastered and levelled with the new tracks. I also prepared the artwork for print using the printers specified templates and provided the mastered CD as a DDP file with CD text, metadata and the correct song gaps.
