When we recorded at Blueleaf Studio in Spring ’17 it gave a completely different experience than in any other studio, the relaxation and concentration helped us to feel music, better hear one another’s thoughts and live the present moment.
The layout of Ralph’s studio makes for a seamless move between recording and listening – the beautiful conservatory is a magic space to take a break and listen back as well as to continue finalising the sound of your music in a comfortable place (you don’t wanna leave even after recording is finished ?).
Ralph is not only a gifted musician but a wonderful human being and these are just two of the qualities that make him one of the best music producers and sound engineers to work with. Ralph’s friendly and attentive attitude helps finalise the answers to how you want your music to sound and supports you throughout the journey from the set up of musical instruments to the final master. His wholehearted interest for achieving the best result and finding your own unique sound inspires.

Julija Jacenaite – Vocalist
In Jazz Veritas are a trio of Jazz musicians. Their debut studio recording was made “live” in the studio, drums bass guitar and vocals were all recorded simultaneously in the same room. Though clever positioning of microphones and acoustic panels we were able to achieve great sounding recordings while the band could maintain eye contact and communicate easily during the recording process – this was a vital aspect of the performance due to the highly improvised nature of the material.
The mix down was extremely minimal with barley any processing applied for a more “raw” and “natural” sounding vibe. This also allows the musicianship to shine through and become the focal point of the record.
